No big scores were seen in the last squad of the opening week of the IHC. The best was Niko Oksanen with a score of 1305. He was followed by Santtu Juutilainen, 1281 and Santtu Tahvanainen, 1278.
Niko Oksanen’s game was a steady grind. All games were over 200 points but he managed to score bigger points (256) only in the third game. However, with a score of 1305 points Oksanen was the only one in the squad to score over 1300 points.
Niko wasn’t satisfied with his result, even though he won the squad.
– The score is not enough so I’ll try again on Tuesday.
Oksanen hit the pocket well but it was difficult for him to get the right ball reaction.
– I tried five different balls and I tried throwing in many different ways but I still couldn’t find a way to get a better reaction.
There were special prizes for senior bowlers (those over 50 years old). The best was Santtu Juutilainen with a score of 1281, second was Panu Nurmilo with 1261 points and third was Petteri Salonen with 1259.
After the opening weekend, the competition is led by Pyry Puharinen with a score of 1525.
By far 162 players have played in this tournament and in total those players have thrown 257 sets.
The competition continues on Tuesday with two competition squads. The first one starts at 2 pm.
