Squad 15: The most efficient in Friday morning was Dom Barrett

Great Britain’s Dom Barrett had the best result in Friday morning’s squad of the Brunswick Ballmaster Open. He bowled 1478 and cleared his way into the final round. Joonas Jähi and Carl Eklund also played over 1400 scores.

For Barrett, who is one of the tournament’s biggest favourites, this was already a fourth squad in this year’s tournament. This time he shot a score that should be enough for the top 16. Dom played strongly throughout the game. He bowled scores 247, 217, 255, 259, 279 and 221.

Barrett said his game improved during the game.
-I feel like I’m playing a little bit better in every game. Hopefully I can still continue to improve, he said.

Dom has been a familiar sight at the Ballmaster Open for over the years.
-I think it is the 10th time here, I think the first time was in 2003, he said.

He thinks the Ballmaster Open is a great tournament.
-This is a great tournament and a great bowling center. Lots of audience and good players. It’s always nice to come here, he concluded.

Joonas Jähi bowled to the second place in the squad with score1433, but he already has a score of 1540, so this game was more like a practice for him. The third was Sweden’s Carl Eklund with a score 1432 which will also be good enough for the final.

After 15 rounds, the theoretical final limits are: to be in the top 38 1409, rounds 1-8 1397, rounds 9-13 1398 and rounds 14-16 1403.
