Squad 3: Pyry Puharinen took the top spot

The second competition day of the Brunswick Ballmaster Open started in Tali on Saturday afternoon. In the squad we saw the first players from outside the borders of Finland and Estonia, while the squad featured players from Norway and Lithuania.

Pyry Puharinen bowled to the squad win and to the tournament lead. He started his game with 299 series. Pyry’s throw of series 12 went deep into the pocket, but with permission you can say that it was really bad luck when 8 pins were left standing. Thus, the 2000€ guarantee pot for the 300-extra will still be distributed. Puharinen played over 200 points in every series and was by far the best with his score of 1469, although there were also other great results in the set.

Pyry had to collect himself a little after the opening series.

-Yes, I had to reset the situation a bit. A 2000€ throw is always a 2000€ throw and now it was really bad. I was able to reset it pretty quickly, Pyry said.

Puharinen weighed the last of the big series 263, which took him to the top.

-That’s when I got many strikes done, and it definitely boosts selfconfidence.

Pyry is going to play again even before the final competition.

– Next week I will go play once or twice, so I’ll see how the situation changes when there’s more hook on the lanes.

Santeri Pulkkinen and Markus Heinonen also bowled more than 1400. They both scored 1406.
