Senior Petteri Salonen was on top of his game on Sunday. In round 2, he knocked out qualifying winner Pyry Puharinen, and in round 3, Jarno Lahti experienced the same fate, when Salonen defeated him 3-0.
Salonen responded with humor when he was asked where he found his energy for the day.
– My head and neck were hurting at night, so I took ibuprofein. I wonder if that has relaxed things a bit, he laughed.
As an experienced bowler, Salonen is good at match games thanks to his long routine.
– In these, you always have to play according to your opponent. Both Pyry and Jarno played with reactive balls, which also made my own game easier.
In addition to Salonen, Kert Truus, Juho Rissanen, Nicolas Carter, Alex Joki, Juhani Tonteri, Niko Oksanen and Joonas Jähi will continue to the top eight.
