In Friday’s evening squad several tough results were seen, but none of them exceeded 1400 points. The best was Peppi Konsteri with a score of 1369.
In the evening squad Peppi Konsteri played her third performance in this year’s tournament and she got a place in the finals on her third attempt. Konsteri’s game was consistently strong, except for the 178 set in the fifth game. The other games were between 212 and 256. Sweden’s Elissa Mehmet scored the same result as Konsteri, but Konsteri’s last game was better, so she won the squad.
Peppi was happy to get a result that qualified her for the finals.
– It was a good game for me and during the four sets I managed to make the right decisions. In the end, I dodged a bullet and managed to save the end, so that the result was enough.
Konsteri played a lot with the same idea as the previous games.
– Today’s performance was better and it can be seen on the scoreboard.
Konsteri will not play the qualifiers anymore but will continue her games in the finals.

After Konsteri and Mehmet there were Roni Leskinen, 1355, Lucas Heijel, 1345, Megan Dicay, 1341, Patrik Päiviö, 1339 and Robin Nyberg, 1334. All these results are possibly enough to make it to the top 41 for the finals. Nyberg is in the 26th place before the last two squads.
Two more squads of qualifying will be played on Saturday. The first one starts at 9:00 and the second one at 13:00.
After the evening round, the 250 extra and no 250 extra finals were played.
The 250 extra final was won by Sweden’s Kevin Melin and the No 250 extra final by Joni Kärkkäinen.
