Squad 10: Jesse Kallio was best of the evening squad

In the tenth squad the scoring level remained high and there were two scores that qualified for the final. The best of the squad was last year’s BM Open winner Jesse Kallio with a great score of 1505.

Jesse Kallio already bowled a great score of 1433 in the previous squad but in the second squad he scored even better and played a score of 1505. That currently places him in fourth place in the tournament and he is strongly heading to the final among the top 16. Fourth place also means a direct place to the step two of the final which starts on Sunday.

Kallio made big games throughout the squad. He had a total of 735 points in three games. In his fourth game he scored 300. In the remaining two games Kallio’s game was also on the right track so Kallio cleared the qualification and now he can focus on the final.

After the first set Kallio made small changes to the balls he used.

-I opened the ball’s surface more which improved the reaction, he said.

Jesse doesn’t want to bowl the qualification anymore.

-I won’t play anymore. Next time will be in the finals, he continued.

The tournament has a big meaning for the BM winner 2024.

-This is the biggest competition in Europe so of course it has a bigger significance than other competitions, Jesse said.

Jari Ratia also took a place in the finals behind Kallio, when Ratia nailed a score of 1456. Ratia scored 218 in his fourth game but the remaining five games were between 237 and 265.

Patrik Päiviö and Taylor Forde Williams also scored 300 games. Now seven bowlers have already scored 300 games in this tournament.

The calculated final limits after ten squads are 1406 to top 38, for squads 1-8 it is 1395 and for squads 9-13 it is estimated to be 1397.

The tournament continues on Wednesday with one squad that starts 18 o´clock.
